My name is Carlos Peña. I hold a PhD in Animal Ecology from Stockholm University, Sweden (2005—2009).
I am currently a postdoctoral researcher (2011—2015) in The Nymphalidae Systematics Group (NSG), at the Laboratory of Genetics, Department of Biology, University of Turku, working with Niklas Wahlberg.
I am interested in butterflies and currently working on the diversification of species in Lepidoptera.
I was Subject Editor of the taxonomical journal Zookeys (dealing with manuscripts on butterflies) during 2011—2015. I am an Associate Editor for the Revista peruana de Biología.
I am also the web application developer in our group. I am rewriting our Voucher database, VoSeq, using Python in combination with PostgreSQL. VoSeq, is open source and you can download it for free. See more info.
