Hi, you already know my name. I study Computer Science at the Universidad Católica "Nuestra Señora de la Asunción" at Asunción, Paraguay.
I have worked on several personal and business projects revolving web development since early 2000. I have seen a lot of progress and technology ever since. For instance the evergrowing adoption of CSS, increased browser compatibility (not there yet) or use of technologies such as Flash (I used to make Stick Figure animations during my high school days). I used to do a lot of "hand-made" PHP back then, it wasn't until 2006 - time in which I started to work on more demanding projects - that I discovered the power of frameworks. I also discovered the Eclipse IDE and married it then. This was the era of PHP with frameworks such as CodeIgniter (or Kohana later on).
I did use Python before, sometime around 2001 or 2002 I found the excellent (now Open Source) project Blender 3D. It is a great 3D editor that uses Python as a scripting language. I really liked Python and hoped to have an opportunity to work more with that fantastic language.
During late 2007 I discovered the Django framework, it was still under heavy development, and was nowhere near version 1.0. Time was short and the pressure was on, so I skipped it... for the time being, it did leave a great impression on me and I promised myself that I would use it sometime in the future.
It is now 2009, time for another university project. Django is stable, Django is fast, Python is great... the tool of choice for this project: Django.
And the tool of choice for my next projects: Django.
